Lee Health is seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Hospital Retail & Auxiliary Businesses to lead and oversee multiple retail operations across our campuses. This is a unique opportunity to drive the strategic vision for our hospital-based gift shops, uniform stores, and U.S. Post Offices, while collaborating with our Lee Health Auxiliaries to enhance employee, patient, and visitor experiences.

What Youll Do:

  • Lead & Inspire: Manage and guide Store Managers, Supervisors, Auxiliary Retail Assistants, and volunteers to deliver outstanding customer service and operational excellence across multiple locations.
  • Develop & Execute Strategy: Design and implement retail strategies encompassing purchasing, vendor relations, merchandising, and promotions to drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Financial Oversight: Establish and monitor budgets, set operational goals, and analyze performance metrics to ensure profitability and efficient resource allocation.
  • Brand & Merchandising: Partner with the marketing team to maintain brand consistency, create Lee Health-branded merchandise, and ensure a cohesive look and feel across all retail outlets.
  • Auxiliary Businesses: Partner with auxiliary services that contribute to the hospital's mission, such as coordinating volunteer programs, fundraising efforts, and collaborations with community organizations.
  • Strategic Vision: Develop and implement long-term strategies to enhance the overall customer experience, increase revenue, and optimize operational performance. Establish measurable goals and initiatives for each retail operation.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with hospital policies, retail regulations, and industry standards. Provide regular reports on performance, sales, and key metrics to hospital leadership.
  • POS System Management: Oversee the management, integration, and maintenance of Point of Sale (POS) systems across all retail operations. Ensure that POS systems are functioning properly, support secure and efficient transactions, and enhance the overall customer checkout experience. Monitor POS performance, troubleshoot issues, and work with IT or vendors to implement necessary updates or upgrades.
  • Innovate & Optimize: Implement e-commerce solutions to expand retail access and increase revenue streams.
  • Stay Ahead: Attend annual vendor showcases and conferences to stay current with industry trends and identify new product opportunities.

What You Bring:

Education: Bachelors degree in business or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of multi-store retail management experience. Previous experience in healthcare retail or managing nonprofit retail operations is a plus.
Skills:

  • Proven experience in retail management, including overseeing multiple locations and teams.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and drive results.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and retail analytics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of POS systems (TransAct and The Uniform Solution).
  • Proficiency in retail data analytics and technology-driven solutions.
  • Expertise in merchandising, branding, and customer engagement.
  • Ability to develop and implement e-commerce strategies.
Preferred:
  • Experience with wholesale operations and product sourcing.
  • Background in nonprofit fundraising or working with foundations.
  • Experience in a healthcare or hospital environment is a plus.
