Inventory Management Specialist will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory of specialized surgical supplies, including implantable items, electronic devices and surgical tables, ensuring availability for scheduled cases. Monitoring supply usage and initiating reorders according to par levels, reviewing and adjusting par level requirements as needed. Monitoring, receiving, inspecting and verifying orders, following up with Purchasing personnel and vendors to resolve errors, delays and other related problems
- Distributing, restocking and maintaining inventory in designated storage areas. Monitoring storage of supplies/equipment. Rotating stock and inspecting items for proper packaging and labeling. Maintaining neatness and organization of storage areas
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory, purchasing and repair records. Receiving and verifying billing invoices, preparing payment requisitions and responding to related inquiries. Monitoring and reconciling expenses against budget allotments. Collecting information requested for preparation of annual supply and capital equipment budgets
- Monitoring and overseeing maintenance and repair of equipment for assigned services. Settingup and inspecting designated equipment for surgical procedures, performing routine maintenance and repairs and/or arranging services through appropriate hospital departments or vendors. Monitoring equipment availability, providing substitutions as needed for scheduled surgical cases
- Assisting in selection and introduction of new equipment and supplies. Serving as a resource on source, cost and use of servicespecific supplies and equipment. Participating in related committees/project teams as assigned
To qualify, you just have:
- A high school degree or GED
- Minimum of one year previous experience preferred. Up to one year of basic technical training in Surgical Technology or related field preferred
- The analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine
- The ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain Hospital policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees
