Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Position Summary

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Office of Advancement is comprised of Development, and Alumni Relations. This dynamic team of advancement professionals provides opportunities for students, alumni, parents and friends to engage with and invest in UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School through gifts of time and resources. Together, we are committed to connecting with our community through special events, excellent communications, strong stewardship and transformative fund-raising efforts in order to advance UNC Kenan-Flagler's mission to be a leading global professional school of business.

The Annual Giving Strategist contributes to the fundraising and alumni engagement goals and functions of a highly successful advancement organization. The position reports to the Executive Director of Alumni Engagement and Individual Giving.

The Annual Giving Strategist creates and disseminates content that resonates with UNC Kenan-Flagler's alumni and helps develop materials for solicitation and stewardship of annual donors. The role executes communications associated with reunions and UNC Kenan-Flagler parent programming. This position provides strategic input and is the primary communications link between Advancement, MarCom and University Development Marketing. This position coordinates the portfolio of Advancement communications, ensuring consistency and continuity.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a must, as well as strong organizational and project management skills. Must have the ability work in in a fast paced environment. Occasional travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

One year of experience in social media, communications, journalism, public relations or marketing.
