Contract Opportunity. US Citizens and Persons permitted! This Quality Engineering Specialist will be directly responsible for managing projects that advance breakthrough technologies. Thisincludes processes such as: non-contact metrology, hybrid CMM inspections, Blade CMM inspection (twist and contour) advanced analytics for quality. Candidate will perform multi-faceted assignments that contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System. Candidate will operate with minimal supervision while navigating an ambiguous environment. Internal interfaces with programs and external interfaces with U.S. and international government agencies will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Extract and interpret complex models for Catia V6 for use in CMM programming
- Establish best methods for efficient and repeatable set-up within an inspection environment for use by all levels and capabilities on the equipment.
- Utilize expert knowledge in GD&T to ensure accurate lay-out, inspection, and results
- Responsible for creating CMM programs for a leading aerospace company for production and during the launch of new type of aircraft.
- Performing and interpreting CMM inspections on rotorcraft components and assemblies.
- Serve as a technical lead role in quality for a system or sub-system.
- Provide technical expertise, for inspection to influence program design engineering throughout development of advanced composite manufacturing.
- Support internal and external stakeholders including Design IPTs, Manufacturing, Program Management, Engineering Labs, Supply Chain Management, Suppliers, etc. with quality expertise
- Design and lead research projects that advance quality technologies related to rotorcraft metallic and composite components.
- Manage relationships with industry partners that support quality.
- Lead and validate Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement Process efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related degree with 5+ years related experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Power Point, Access, Word and Excel).
- Corrective Action / Continuous Improvement Methodology to include Statistical Analysis and Project Management techniques.
- Experienced in interpreting, validating, and communicating GD&T requirements.
- Performing and interpreting CMM inspections on rotorcraft components and assemblies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to interface with executive management and customer representatives.
Strongly Desired Qualifications:
- Capable of part model extraction for programming using Catia V6
- Working knowledge of aerospace industry standards and specifications.
- Strong Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, standards (AS9100 and/or ISO9001), and concepts.
- Digital SPC systems and strategies
- Familiar with Zeiss Calyspo and or Hexagon PC-Dmis Software
- Familiar with machine parts and gear manufacturing and inspection techniques
