Overview: The position requires the ability to sell and promote Northern Safety's catalog products. Must continually generate new business while continuing to service the existing territory base. This involves calling on existing customer base plus cold calling of potential customers within the defined sales territory. CORE RESPONSIBITLIES include the following and all other duties assigned: Travel the defined territory to grow business through direct face to face contact with customer base. Builds customer relationships through soliciting orders and/or talking with customers via phone. Work with customer service and branch location to develop new business. Work with inside sales representatives to establish contact for customers to place orders, delivery schedule and obtain pricing information. Work with Product Trainer to gain knowledge of what applications products are used for so customers are kept informed of current developments. Promptly meet territory reporting deadlines and have competitive reconnaissance. Responsible for filling out a call report to be handed in monthly. Supply company with information in regards to any customer feedback and be a resource to all current sales channels. Plan and organize sales strategies. Maintain current status for catalog products, features, and benefits. Other duties may be assigned. ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for understanding, supporting, and living our core values. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college; one to three years selling experience preferred; or equivalent combination of both education and experience. Fastener knowledge experience is a plus. Must have state driver's license. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently or as a team. Ability to be organized and thorough. Ability to be flexible when working with other associates and managers. The ability to be a self -starter, objective, assertive in their work. Exhibit and maintain confidentiality with company related issues and materials. Appropriate dress for business setting with good personal hygiene habits. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that while performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, bend wrist left to right and up and down. Must occasionally bend/stoop, squat/crouch, climb stairs, push/pull, work on uneven surfaces, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, reach above/at/below the shoulder, turn hand palm side up and grasp. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Installing retail merchandising displays to new and existing clientele. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Requires work inside and outside with natural lighting, intermittent noise and normal temperatures. Driving is a critical element of the job. Will be traveling approximately 40-50,000 miles a year and not be bothered by driving during the winter. Pay: $60,000 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, skills, work experience and certifications. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus. An incentive bonus, if any, depends on various factors such as organizational performance. The Wurth Difference:
