Job Summary

The Human Resources Supervisor will partner primarily with the Nordson MEDICAL division's regional leadership and managers in the US to identify, develop and implement HR solutions to meet business needs in areas such as organization and workforce effectiveness, talent and leadership development and employee engagement. The Human Resources Supervisor contributes to HR strategy, collaborates with the Communities of Expertise and supports HR programs to enable the company to better attract, develop and retain high-caliber employees, and serves as an internal consultant on HR issues. This role has responsibility for the Nordson Medical Interventional Solutions business across the US and may provide supplemental support to other sites as needed.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on HR issues including workforce planning, talent and performance management, and organizational solutions to support business strategy and growth framework
  • Identify leadership development opportunities and stretch assignments, coach and provide insight and guidance to strengthen pipeline/succession
  • Provide HR consulting services to Business Leader(s), Managers and Supervisors.
  • Drive and implement global/regional HR policies, programs, initiatives, and solutions
  • Lead division specific HR solutions on leadership/talent development, employee engagement and workforce effectiveness
  • Analyze available data to identify trends, create a strategy and proactively work with management and employees to strengthen relationships, improve collaboration, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Coaches team members on performance and development
  • Direct Managers and Employees to HR Operations and partner with Americas HR Services group to ensure provision of high-quality HR services to the local employee population
  • Build strong working partnerships with Universities and Colleges for the purpose of identifying graduates and interns for key talent opportunities and future succession planning
  • Provide support on escalated Issues from HR Operations, including employee relations issues
  • Collaborate with Communities of Expertise to address and bring resolution to employee/labor relations issues including but not limited to union/works council contract negotiations, investigations, complaints, concerns, terminations etc.
  • Create plans and implement change management strategies that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance
  • Support M&A activities related to due diligence or integrations of acquisitions where required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • A Bachelor or equivalent higher education degree
  • Approximately 8 years of progressive professional level human resources experience
  • Prior people leader experience preferred

  • Current knowledge on applicable employment and labor regulations

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills with the ability to prepare and present executive level reports / proposals
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Familiarity with HRIS functions, Workday preferred
