What You'll Do

Elevate your career as a Principal Threshold Engineer/Special Inspector (SI) at ECS. As a Principal Threshold Engineer you will lead inspections of structural components in new construction, ensuring compliance with threshold building requirements. As a senior reviewer, you'll oversee reports and construction plans while collaborating with contractors, project managers, customers and other stakeholders.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the responsible engineer on threshold buildings
  • Perform threshold inspections, including: CMU's, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, shoring/reshoring, post tensioned cable, precast/pre-stress members, wood-framed systems
  • Conduct field observations and obtaining samples for testing
  • Document field observations by transmitting daily field reports detailing site activities
  • Perform destructive and non-destructive testing on construction materials, including operating electric, pneumatic and power actuated tools, performing ground penetrating radar (GPR) structural surveys, pavement condition surveys, and concrete sawing, coring, and chipping
  • Perform observations of structural steel and reinforcing steel, including welded or bolted connections in the field, andobservation of exterior insulation finishing systems (EIFS), waterproofing, roofing, or window assemblies
  • Communicate daily with site contractors, other technicians and project managers
  • Serve as a senior/final reviewer on construction plans, reports, and associated documents
  • Perform administrative duties as requested

What We're Looking For

  • BSCE or MSCE from an ABET accredited university
  • PE license in the State of Florida
  • SI - Special Inspector credentials in the State of Florida
  • 12+ years of experience as a Professional Engineer managing related projects and programs
  • Additional certifications include ACI Level I, ICC Masonry Special Inspection, PTI Level I, ICC Structural Steel or AISC eqv., ICC Basic Soil Inspection
  • Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
  • Valid Drivers License
