These two positions support a department of engineers in test preparation and execution, data analysis, and presentation. Assessment of aerospace composites, ceramics, and alloys for hypersonic flight is the primary application. Students will also work hands-on in hardware design and test development. Travel to off-site test facilities is likely. CO-OP (A) is scheduled for Fall (Aug. 2025) CO-OP (B) is scheduled for Spring (Jan. 2026) The student will work in close cooperation with a variety of engineers, as well as laboratory and machine shop personnel, inorder to accomplish tasks vital to the success of projects. Responsibilities include:
- Design of test hardware using solid modeling software
- Test preparation including drawings, test requests, and documentation
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Laboratory test method development

- U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance
- Completed freshman year in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics or other related field.

COOP Benefits: COOP Student Employees applies to students enrolled in an accredited college or university and who are employed in a defined COOP rotation through their academic Cooperative Education Program. Rotations Defined:The normal three rotations in a defined COOP program are Spring (January - May), Summer (June - August) or Fall (September - December). Below are the benefit programs that COOP student employees are eligible to participate. Comprehensive Pay Rotation One: $18.00/hour Rotation Two: $20.00/hour Rotation Three: $22.00/hour Holiday Pay COOP student employees will be paid eight (8) hours of holiday pay for any holiday which falls in a week worked during their rotation. Paid Time Off (PTO) COOP student employees receive a twenty (20) hour PTO bank immediately upon each rotation. Time to be used for (illness, vacation, bereavement). At the end of each rotation, unused PTO will be forfeited. Transitional Allowance COOP student employees are eligible to receive a taxable transitional allowance ($3,000) at the beginning of each new rotation payable on the first normally schedule pay date.
