Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Local Media to lead our paid media initiatives and drive measurable results for our telecommunications company. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in local broadcast media buying and cross-channel advertising, with a proven track record of managing media agencies, internal teams, and multi-million-dollar media campaigns. Reporting to the VP of Media, the Director, Paid Media will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of paid media strategy, execution, and optimization to support the company's marketing goals.

This role requires a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of local spot TV, DRTV, terrestrial radio, streaming audio, Out of Home (OOH) media, and cross-channel video advertising. The successful candidate will excel in managing multiple direct reports, collaborating cross-functionally, and fostering strong partnerships with external media agencies and internal stakeholders.

Additionally, are looking for an individaul to help build a holistic approach to our local video investment across offline and digital channels

The ideal candidate will possess working knowledge and understanding of partnering with local TV networks which manage their own OTT and Online video inventory for their market. This role will evolve our current Local Media capability to manage local streaming inventory, to include local video sponsorships across linear, OLV and OTT inventory.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive paid media strategy that aligns with business objectives and drives customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Oversee local broadcast media buying, including local spot TV, DRTV, terrestrial radio, and OOH campaigns, ensuring effectiveness and ROI.
  • Lead cross-channel video advertising efforts, including linear TV, digital video, streaming platforms, and addressable TV inventory, to deliver an integrated approach.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging media technologies, and competitive landscape to inform media strategies and drive innovation.

Agency and Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media agency partners, setting clear expectations, establishing KPIs, and ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Evaluate agency performance, negotiate contracts, and manage budgets to maximize media investments.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media vendors, ensuring access to premium inventory and innovative advertising opportunities.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of media professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities to direct reports, ensuring individual and team success.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, analytics, creative, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of media strategies.

Campaign Execution and Optimization

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across local broadcast, audio, and OOH channels.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement and delivering actionable insights.
  • Ensure campaigns are executed on time, within budget, and meet or exceed performance benchmarks.

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is$141,372.00-$232,254.00/ year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
