Job Title: Construction Inspector Location with zip code: Queens, NY, 11105 Duration: Temp-to-Hire (after a min. of 520 hrs. worked) Pay Rate. $40/hr. on W2 without Benefits. Shift Timing: 7 am-4 pm, Mon-Fri. Job Description: Our client is looking for Field Construction Inspectors to oversee construction work in the 5 boroughs of New York City. The scope will include overseeing infrastructure repair and construction activities, documenting personnel and payment quantities, and communicating directly with the Client construction managers. Role & Responsibilities: The Construction Inspectors will work side-by-side with our client's client, who has contractors doing the construction work under direct contract with the client. That work will consist of repairs to existing subsurface utilities and infrastructure (need to have experience with public streets including trenching, shoring, utility repair, etc.). Given that the client contractors perform the construction work under established unit rates, it will be the responsibility of the Construction Inspectors to document payment quantities for the client such as several personnel, excavation volumes, material quantities, etc. The client will use this documentation to justify payment of the contractor's invoices. The Construction Inspectors are to act as the client's "eyes and ears " on the project and to communicate directly to the client regarding work progress. The client's construction managers will periodically visit the project sites within the 5 boroughs of NYC. Requirements: 3-5 years of exp. (not much more) Must have your vehicle (no public transportation allowed) Must live in the NYC area Construction experience w/in the NYC area is highly preferred (but not required) Need prior construction experience with public streets including trenching, shoring, utility repair, etc. Other: A great personality, team player, and eager to learn is very important. Someone who is new in their career but is looking to learn and grow within a company is what we are looking for. Hazwoper certification is a plus. 30 hour OSHA Construction certification is a plus. The client is looking for an inspector with a technical degree and construction management experience.
