Overview
Health Information Management coding coord provides leadership and technical expertise within their specific coding service line. Performs peer audits as needed, mentors and trains new coding staff. Adheres to all duties of a certified coder. Qualifications Certifications: Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based (CCS-P) within 2 years - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), Education: , Work Experience: Coding Responsibilities Performs essential job functions of a certified coder, facilitates ambulatory CDI specialist productivity to meet concurrent review goals Serves as an expert coder within the ambulatory provider coding line Acts as a role model and supports management initiatives for the department Assists with leadership activities as needed for the ambulatory CDI program Provides training and orientation of new and existing coding staff. Coordinates and facilitates training for providers and APPs. Provides training trends Perform routine peer review of work in accordance with documented standards. Monitors accuracy of changes and queries In collaboration with supervisor (or manager) conducts regularly scheduled meetings with coding team members and providers, facilitates and collaborates on initiatives within the department, enterprise wide, and with external entities. In addition, assists employees in solving work related matters Endorses and performs all required tasks associated with the Carle Experience such as, but not limited to, regular rounding with staff and completion of all reports needed to have meaningful and productive monthly or weekly meetings with the supervisor (or manager) In collaboration with the supervisor (or manager) and director, prepares reports related to the ambulatory CDI program Coordinates and implements activities for the ambulatory CDI program to include scheduling and training of coding team members to assure program goals are met Provides regular feedback to supervisor, manager and director around activities of the ambulatory CDI program Reviews and assists with department policies and procedures related to ambulatory CDI to ensure best practices are enforced and adhered to Completes all required Carle training Keep up to date with regulatory and coding changes that may impact the ambulatory CDI program Attends department meetings as required and assures ambulatory CDI team members are aware of HIM department goals and priorities Assists with updating and maintenance of HIM department policies and procedures as needed Assists with coding team member annual reviews by providing feedback on individual team member performance About Us Find it here. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $27.48per hour - $45.89per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
