Covia is looking for a dynamicProduction Supervisor who will have a positive impact on theteam at itsGuion, ARlocation. TheProduction Supervisor will be responsible for production planning, shipping, loading, safety enforcement and supervision of all hourly employees on the shift.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:



  • Adheres to Covia policies and
  • Set high standards for workplace safety Understand and enforce MSHA Regulations and Covia's Corporate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures ensuring employees are properly trained and equipped to perform jobs in the safest manner. Hold regularly scheduled safety meetings with reports.

  • Inspire high levels of performance from peers and reports through sound
  • Utilize resources effectively to maximize production, lower costs, and eliminate Establishes, promotes and enforces high standards for housekeeping.
  • Ensures that company assets are used as according to their designed function for maximum utilization.
  • Plan production in a manner such that a sufficient quantity of in-specification product is available for packaging and loading to meet customer order
  • Present data as needed to support ideas and recommendations in written and verbal
  • Plans activities to achieve personal, plant and corporate
  • Complete projects in a timely
  • Hands-on supervision and scheduling of all hourly production employees to meet the demands of the plant, including timecard preparations and vacation
  • Identify and provide training for
  • Utilizes Continuous Improvement Process to identify problems, solutions and opportunities for lasting
  • Promote positive employee relations, resolve conflicts, and encourage a free flow of ideas by the use of good interpersonal
  • Understands and utilizes the team concept by active participation, shared leadership, two way communication, consensus building, maintaining focus, and application of Continuous Improvement Process in the team work
  • Inspires initiative in others by role modeling, acts as a self-starter and exhibits a high degree of motivation.

  • Responsible for compliance with plant environmental permitting
  • Responsible for documentation regarding, quality, consumables, safety, production, loading, shipping and
  • Responsible for quality throughout the entire production, packaging, loading, and shipping process, measurable by zero customer
  • Advise the Operations Manager of potential problems that might affect plant capacity to produce in a safe and/or efficient
  • Initiate maintenance requests, recommend equipment and/or process changes as needed to maximize
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and/or outside contractors as
  • Responsible for directing the workforce to achieve a safe and healthy work environment for all employees thought effective housekeeping/elimination of
  • Other duties as assigned.



The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or technical degree, or equivalent years of in-field supervisor experience preferred
  • high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Industrial experience required. Mining experience preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office is preferred.
