Summary

The MIL Corporationis looking for afull time Designer/Drafter(Engineering, Analyst) to support capture, presentation, and configuration management (CM) of the design and installation artifacts for Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications cabling and related cabling infrastructure. The Designer/Drafter role supports a federal government client from our Lexington Park, MD location.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site per week. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing site surveys to capture survey and design artifacts.

  • Create engineering drawings and installation data packages.

  • Interface with the project managers and attend project meetings with end customers and sponsors.

  • Submit daily or weekly status reports as requested.

  • Coordinate with project managers to create bill of materials and other procurement documentation.

  • Provide as-built drawings and documentation using CAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office products.

  • Produce engineering / installation design documentation and test plans as required.

  • Review final technical data package (TDP) products (drawings, equipment lists, etc.) for completeness, correctness, and consistency.

Travel

Up to 10%, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience working with CAD software

  • Experience with creating infrastructure drawings such as wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and related artifacts

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Visio, Microsoft Office suite, and SharePoint

  • Ability to develop and interpret engineering packages and engineering change orders

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and organization skills

  • Ability to interface professionally with individuals at all levels and communicate effectively with project staff and other team members

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO-9001, AS9100, and configuration management processes, including ASME drafting standards

  • Experience with design, development, installation, and maintenance of rack-mounted communications systems

  • Current TS/SCI clearance

Travel

Up to 10% of the time, to CONUS and OCONUS sites, as required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college. Six (6) years of additional work experiencerelated to the positionor an Associate's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess a currentSecret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $70,000 - $100,000 per year.
