Position: Assistant Professor in Dance Practice, Performance and Choreography, Tenure-Track Starting Date: July 1, 2025. Fall Quarter Instruction begins September 22, 2025. "Off-scale salaries" and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input. Assistant Professors are required to undergo a mandatory 7th-year review for promotion to Associate Professor, although this can occur earlier. Qualified Applicants will hold an MFA or MA received by June 30, 2025, or BA plus extensive professional experience; strong track record as a choreographer, dance/performance artist and/or movement researcher/practitioner; college teaching experience; demonstrated administrative, artistic mentoring, and producing experience; and an ability to work with and benefit a diverse, multi-ethnic, international environment.
