The Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) Co-op unit within the College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies are seeking candidates for multiple open positions:
Responsibilities: The role of Educator Professors encompasses a minimum of 80% Teaching, with a maximum of 20% dedicated to Scholarship and/or Service. The position is hybrid and requires a mix of in-person and remote activities. Essential Functions
Teaching (80% minimum) Teaching professional development courses and advising designated engineering co-op majors, which involves: Service and Scholarship (0-20% Total) Educator professors typically engage in service to their division, university, and profession by serving on boards and committees. Scholarship activities typically involve research in their area of interest (e.g., leading to presentation and publication), including but not limited to understanding the impact of their teaching methods. Scholarship activities also include professional development and demonstrated application of skills or knowledge acquired (e.g., the application of a new teaching method). Promotion, Tenure (RPT): This initial multi-year appointment may be renewed under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Unit (CBA), provided one's performance satisfies the criteria of the college's guidelines for reappointment, program need, available budget, and upon approval by the Provost. The RPT process reviews work and contributions to teaching, scholarly/professional activities, and service as noted in the job description. Assistant Professor Educators hired through this posting will join the CEAS Cooperative Education (Co-op) Unit. Assistant Professor Educators for CEAS Co-op are initially hired into a multi-year contract. The contract for each academic year is comprised of 2 primary semesters (Fall and Spring), as well as a secondary semester (Summer), during which faculty are contracted to work 34 days for compensation equal to 19% of the 2-semester base salary.
