The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Project Manager, Sourcing and Supply Chain to our Offsite Manufacturing team in Seattle, WA. We are looking for someone who excels at creating and executing strategic sourcing and supply chain plans, building internal and external stakeholder relationships, and can help build and refine related processes in a fast-paced atmosphere. You will be joining a diverse team where you will be able to make an immediate impact. You are someone who thrives in a collaborative, high-growth environment and are passionate about solving problems and achieving goals. Additionally, key responsibilities you will have include:

  1. Strategic Sourcing:

o Manage procurement and supplier relationships, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials.

o Develop, implement, and manage end-to-end supply chain strategies tailored to offsite manufacturing.

o Support design and optimization of inventory management systems to maintain optimal inventory levels, reduce waste, and ensure accurate tracking.

o Collaborate with internal construction project teams to align supply chain activities with construction timelines and project milestones.

o Develop and maintain robust forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes for materials and logistics.

o Partner with procurement team to monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

o Foster efficient communications between internal stakeholders including sales, design, and product/program management teams

o Implement continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce costs.

  1. Logistics Management:
    • Partner with supply chain operations team to create strategic approach to logistics that balances risk, cost, flexibility, and customer needs in alignment with overall business needs and constraints
    • Ensure timely and efficient logistics management to include inbound/outbound transportation and warehousing operations.
  2. Cost Control:
    • Partner with sourcing and supply chain operations to implement cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain.
    • Monitor and analyze supply chain costs and identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and financial targets.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all sourced materials and logistics operations meet quality standards.
    • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any issues and implement corrective actions.
  4. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Stay informed about geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors that could impact the supply chain.
    • Lead development of supply chain agreements in partnership with procurement department and ensure alignment with business unit strategy and goals.
  5. Process Improvement
    • Create and refine processes to suit needs of the offsite manufacturing business unit.
    • Identify and ensure execution and codification of iterative improvements.
  6. Technology Utilization:
    • Leverage supply chain management software and tools to enhance efficiency.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or construction management, or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in supply chain management in a manufacturing or construction environment is required.
  • Experience working for an offsite modular construction firm strongly preferred.
  • General Contractor or Major Mechanical or Electrical Subcontractor experience is also preferred.
  • Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak preferred.
  • Completed OSHA 30 class is required.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of accounting and financial management preferred.

The pay range for this position is $84,240 - $130,680 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
