The Associate Project Manager is responsible for learning the steps and processes to successfully manage implementation projects. With growing knowledge and experience, this role is accountable for maintaining or exceeding the billable goals of the team and completing projects to the clients' satisfaction on schedule and within budget. The Associate Project Manager represents Tyler to the client.

Responsibilities
  • Launch projects by conducting project planning meetings with clients and other staff as required.
  • Conducts internal project transitions.
  • Can manage project off-boarding which includes modification of existing project plans, outlining the scope, schedule, and budget of the project, as well as each party's responsibilities and mutual commitment to contribute adequate resources to follow the plan.
  • Ensure resources are scheduled and monitor progress to ensure compliance with the project plan, immediately notifying affected parties of any schedule changes; may require assistance in these activities.
  • Use departmental sites, calendars, and systems to publish a summary of key dates and issues to all Tyler employees involved in the project, such as development, implementation, support, and other project managers.
  • Obtain regular feedback from clients regarding project status and quality of service and take immediate correction action as required.
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve roadblocks, such as hardware, software, or networking incompatibilities and unresponsive third-party vendors or clients.
  • May identify add-on sales opportunities and manage contract addendum and purchase orders.
  • Ensure that resources are scheduled and monitor progress to ensure compliance with the project plan, immediately notifying affected parties of any schedule changes.
  • Manage and assume accountability for all aspects of projects related to delivery of client software and services. Some assistance may be required.
  • Communicate completion of milestones to clients and secure formal acceptance from them.
  • Upon project completion conduct meetings with clients to ensure a smooth transition of services from implementation to support.
  • Works with the sales team as the contract is signed, becoming familiar with contract requirements, program modifications, and other site-specific background information with assistance.
  • Manages and assumes accountabilities for all aspects of projects related to delivery of client software and services with the focus being on less complex projects.
  • Holds project team accountable with some assistance/coaching.
  • Maintains the project teams' calendar commitments by keeping all project event information current.
  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships to resolve mutual problems by collaborating on procedures or transactions.
  • Focuses on providing standard professional advice and creating initial reports/analyzes for review by experienced team professionals.
  • Develops professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Determines a course of action based on guidelines and modifies processes and methods as required.
  • Expected to require guidance to communicate with the implementation staff and management regularly, ensuring timely delivery of schedules and revenue projections; relaying personnel, client, contract, and departmental issues; seeks assistance as needed with meeting revenue goals.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope which are often varied and routine where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Applies learned techniques and contributes to analysis and investigation to solve problems.
    Ability to identify when issues need to be escalated and is receptive to coaching regarding resolutions.
  • Expected to require assistance when providing Executive level project updates.
  • Ability to research basic invoice questions with some guidance.
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 year of project management (or equivalent/like experience) or an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Software lifecycle and enterprise software knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent planning, organizational skills, and ability to follow through until processes are completed.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical and non-technical information to various audiences including management.
  • Proficiency using computers, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to problem-solve and present solutions with some guidance.
  • Seeks appropriate guidance to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude and is open to feedback to further growth.
  • Seeks appropriate guidance for negotiation, conflict resolution, and persuasion skills.
  • Seeks out opportunities to develop skills further
