Posting Summary |
This position functions as an instructor in one of the Rutgers Community Arts' (
RCA) Summer Arts Institute, offering intensives in
Art & Design, Dance, Filmmaking,
Jazz, and Concert Band. Instructors may teach individual classes, masterclasses, or workshops to pre-college students, taking on other duties as assigned. A Rutgers Community Arts Summer Arts Instructor will work with
RCA and Mason Gross School of the Arts (
MGSA) to create a syllabus and lesson plans for the course and serve as its instructor for the entirety of the program.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- A bachelor's degree and professional experience (performance and/or instruction) is preferred. Instructors who lack a bachelor's degree, but who possess considerable professional experience and a demonstrated record of professional success/achievement and/or are currently enrolled in a degree program pertinent to the camp may be hired for this position.
- Specific knowledge and skill in the artform they are teaching is required, as is familiarity with any necessary materials, equipment and/or software as pertains to the specific course(s).
- Problem solving and independent judgement in teaching and classroom management is required.
