Job DescriptionReporting to the HSE Manager, facilitate and assist in the identification, evaluation and control of safety and environmental risks at the Decatur facility. Provide, assist and/or facilitate skills building and training of both leadership and plant employees. Responsibilities: 1. Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies. Education: Associate degree in related field. Related Experience:Preferred minimum of 1-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point; Proficient in navigating OSHA, EPA and other key HSE regulations/web sites. Competencies: 1. Problem solving to enable the development and execution of cost effective solutions to minimize/eliminate risk. 2. Creativity to enable the use of tools, resources, programs, processes and solutions as required. 3. Presentation skills to enable effective training and communication to all levels of the organization. 4. Written and oral communication skills to enable the use of multiple communication media (workbooks, presentations, reports, etc.) as needed. 5. Change management skills are important to drive and sustain improvement in a fast-paced and changing work environment. Additional InformationPhysical: Must be able to conduct plant walkthroughs and inspections/audits up to 4 hours at a time, to include walking and climbing up/down stairs and ladders (portable, fixed). Sensory:Must have the appropriate level of sensory acuity (visual, hearing, speaking, smell and touch) to be able to identify and react to normal, abnormal and alarm conditions (chemicals, temperature, etc.) Mental/Reasoning:Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and processes to enable effective communication with all levels of the organization.
