Position Description

This position applies in-depth knowledge and experience to plan, implement, support, and maintain solutions that enhance the delivery and presentation of critical enterprise systems in an efficient and highly maintainable manner across the company's hybrid on-premise and cloud environments. Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise application administration and middleware environments to support strategic objectives.
Responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining the organization's cloud infrastructure while ensuring best practices for operational efficiency and usage governance. In depth understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the application delivery, application configuration, and enterprise integration management field. Significant understanding of load balancing strategies and techniques, application switching and traffic management, application persistence and SSL certificates, and vulnerability management to support the existing technology environment.
Provides analytical support to other areas of Technology Services to develop solutions to support business needs and objectives on a continual basis.
Stays abreast of technological changes in the industry as pertains to job objectives.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills with the willingness to collaborate with cross-functional departments and teams. Requires limited supervision and/or direction and can lead or direct the work of others.

Essential Job Tasks:

Participates as a strong team player in technical leadership on project teams that provide technical solutions; includes evaluating, implementing and supporting new technology solutions as they become practical.

Implements integrated solutions to ensure it meets organizational needs; diagnoses and resolves production problems related to integration.

Provides proficient technical background for load balancing objectives, gathering requirements, designing, implementing, and configuring devices.

Leads and performs middleware maintenance tasks, including patching and updates, while supporting system administration and software development projects.

Ensures ongoing system maintenance and assists in integrating applications with database systems and other infrastructure components.

Administrates and governs the organization's cloud infrastructure.

Serves on-call 24 hours, 7 days per week, responding to escalated problems as needed.

System Integration Analyst III

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related degree + 5 years experience in the Information Technology field.

Compensation Information:
$102,560 - $128,200 (min. - mid.)

System Integration Analyst II

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related degree + 2 years experience in the Information Technology field or Associates Degree in related field + 4 years experience or High School Diploma or GED + 6 years experience.

Compensation Information:
$82,520 - $103,140 (min. - mid.)

Significant experience and knowledge, with some areas growing as proficient, in most of these preferred subjects:

Cloud Administration
* Design, manage and provide governance for the organization's cloud infrastructure including, but not limited to:
o managing and deploying services
o monitoring resources for performance and cost efficiency
o implementing security measures
o establishing and managing backup and recovery solutions
o identifying and resolving environment issues
* Certifications desired but not required

Systems Maintenance and Automation
* Manage and maintain Java environments based on application requirements.
* Promote changes from lower environments to production.
* Develop and automate solutions using PowerShell, Bash, Perl, and Ansible.
* Troubleshoot and support applications on Linux and Windows systems.
* Handle backup, recovery, and automation of application tasks.
* Apply minor and major patches to application, middleware, and prerequisites third party software stack per vendor recommendations to maintain support or addresses issues.
* Document well-written guides for cross training and leveraging referential data.
* Manage supported versions of middleware
* Lead and support integration of middleware with various data sources, primarily Oracle database and SQL Server.
* Efficient knowledge of tools for support and troubleshooting, including but not limited to VMWare Management Console, Wireshark, IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS), SolarWinds and Smart Console.
* Research and provide product roadmaps for middleware and its prerequisites.
* Design, configure, and support HA / DR configurations of middleware when resources allow it.
* Lead cloning and environmental refresh efforts of middleware lower environments from production.

Load Balancing
* Create virtual IPs used to front network traffic across various ports and protocols.
* Implement load balancing strategies and techniques such as traffic management and persistence.
SSL
* Use tools such as OpenSSL and keytool to manage SSL certificates per application and network requirements.
* Manage private keys, certificates, and chain of trust.

Security
* Investigate, review and apply application and operating system hardening recommendations.
* Investigate, identify, and implement security best practices and requirements for applications and their components.
* Discover, assess, and resolve application vulnerabilities and exploits.

Additional Preferred Skills
* Working knowledge of containerization platforms such as RedHat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
