Major/Essential Functions

ADMINISTRATIVE: Ensure documentation for the area is maintained. Create detailed guidelines for inspection processes, including checklists and criteria for evaluating construction sites. Hiring, training, and supervising a team of inspectors, ensuring they are proficient in inspection techniques and quality standards. Reviews inspection reports, ensuring that current industry regulations and quality standards are being adhered to.

TECHNICAL REVIEW: Analyze blueprints and construction documents to identify potential issues or noncompliance with regulations. Reviews submittal documentation, change orders, purchase requests, etc. prior to submission to TTU Project Manager for processing.

INSPECTIONS/QUALITY CONTROL: Regularly visits construction sites to assess the quality of work being performed against project plans and specifications. Monitors construction processes to maintain quality standards through the project. Identifies and reports any safety hazards or noncompliance work. Maintains detailed inspection reports, including photographs and notes, to document any discrepancies or concerns. Collaborates with contractors, architects, engineers, etc. to address issues and ensure project quality.

PROJECT SUPPORT: Represents TTU Operations during the construction process. Attends project design meetings and other meetings, as called for by the TTU Project Manager to resolve any issues and/or to discuss project schedules and performance. Attends final and post-final inspections of construction projects. Makes decisions on technical, administrative, and management issues identified during routine inspections of construction sites. Coordinates with the appropriate TTU Project Manager for compliance with contract documentation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or Interior Design or related field plus three years experience in large project management. An advanced degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Excellent communication skills and prior management experience.
  • Experience in project inspections and quality control.
