OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITY Construction Project Manager 1 - Limited Duration Woodburn - MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility

Are you ready to take on a critical role in shaping the future of Oregon Youth Authority's facilities? We are seeking a Construction Project Manager 1 to manage and coordinate a variety of construction and remodel projects across our agency. In this role, you will oversee project management tasks, inspection services, subcontractor coordination, bid document preparation, and cost estimating. You'll collaborate with agency staff, the Lead Construction Project Manager, and contract professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Your ability to communicate effectively, navigate MS Office applications, and apply strong business acumen will be essential to success in this role. We're looking for a team player who can work collaboratively, provide exceptional customer service, and apply an equitable lens to all project work.   • Limited Duration: This is a limited duration appointment that is expected to end when project is complete. Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service. This position has the potential to become permanent.

What You Need to Qualify:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Architecture, Planning, or Engineering AND one year experience related to the class series concept; OR
  • An Associate Degree (or comparable college course work) in Architectural, Engineering or Construction technology; AND 30 months experience related to the class series concept; OR
  • Four years of experience related to the class series concept.

Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification awarded by the Project Management Institute (PMI), Oregon Project Management Associate Certification (OPMA) or other related certification will substitute for 1 year of the qualifying experience.

  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of construction management principles, budgeting, and cost control to ensure projects are completed within scope, time, and budget constraints.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, contractors, and agency staff to achieve project goals while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Equity-Focused Decision Making: Commitment to applying an equitable and inclusive approach in all project planning and execution to support diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Project Oversight & Reporting: Capability to prepare clear and concise project status reports, providing stakeholders with timely updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
