JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Administration, Commonwealth Campuses, the Compliance Specialist will provide oversight for the Commonwealth Campus high school dual credit program, ensuring compliance with policies AD39 (defines child/minor, authorized adult, and mandated reporting), AD72 (reporting suggested child abuse), and HR99 (background checking process).

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as liaison to the campuses and the University's Compliance Office to ensure compliance with mandatory state requirements and university policies
  • Overseeing the process to review, track and maintain high school dual credit affiliation agreements, working with the Office of General Counsel
  • Coordinating the process to create, update, track and maintain clinical affiliation agreements, serving as liaison to the campus clinical coordinators, external clinical partners and office of General Counsel
  • Supporting the Assistant Vice President in the collection and reporting of allied health student background/health information through Castlebranch, a contracted vendor, and in compliance with clinical partner affiliation agreements
  • Serving as the liaison to the Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research to facilitate the annual update of campus academic program licensure information to populate the University's Interactive State Licensure Disclosure Dashboard to comply with Title IV regulations
  • Serving as the liaison to World Campus to facilitate the collection of student internship information to comply with requirements of the University's State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)
  • Preparing operational reports, recommend improvements, and implement process changes
  • Providing training to faculty and staff on policies and procedures for program compliance initiatives

Education and experience:

This position will be filled at the Advanced Professional level and minimally requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are essential, as is attention to detail. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and a demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent and inclusive services for students from historically underrepresented communities is also required. Demonstrated record of successful collaboration involving multiple constituencies and the ability to promote a culture that is conducive to effective relationships among diverse team members geographically dispersed is needed. Successful candidate must also have the ability to interpret and communicate policies, processes, data, information and instructions both verbally and in writing, adapting new solutions into group processes. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is desired. Occasional travel to campuses may be required.

The following background checks must be successfully completed for this position:

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. The successful candidate may be required to travel to campuses, as needed. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
