Summary

American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is looking for a Vessel Support Services Representative who ensures vessels are staffed with qualified Team Members based on vessel needs. You will coordinate, schedule, and communicate travel logistics to crew members for assigned vessels.

Our ideal candidate has exceptional communication capabilities that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while working under time constraints. You will also need to have an impressive organizational skillset with attention to detail while utilizing the Microsoft office suite software program

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT



  • Ensure vessels are staffed at appropriate personnel levels.
  • Document exceptions to standard pay practices and coordinate with Payroll to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure all Team Members have appropriate credentials and licensing prior to boarding vessels.
  • Provide customer service to crew members.
  • Collaborate with Travel Team to coordinate best available transportation to and from vessels.
  • Ensure budgetary guidelines and travel policies are adhered to.
  • Engage with other Dispatch Team Members in a team environment to coordinate solutions for shortages and open billets.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.


What we are looking for...



  • High School Diploma or GED is Required.
  • Must be available to work On-Call rotation during assigned nights and weekends.
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of organizational skills and results orientation.
  • Must be dependable in attendance and meet deadlines as established.
  • Ability to determine priorities and drive decisions with critical thinking.


Even better if you have:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • 0-3 Years of dispatching experience in trucking or boating transportation industry is a plus.
  • 0-3 years previous experience in an office environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of barging operations and river system is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using office productivity software is a plus.
