Overview

We are seeking a Automotive Strategic Account Manager (SAM) to lead sales and marketing strategies for large national and regional truck & van equipment aftermarket upfitters and wholesalers. This role is instrumental in driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and fostering long-term customer relationships with key accounts such as Keystone Automotive, Meyer Distributing, U.S. Upfitters, Leonard's Truck, and others.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales & Account Management

    Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies to drive sales growth and profitability.
  • Lead joint business planning with key accounts, ensuring alignment on goals, promotions, forecasting and product expansion.
  • Manage and strengthen HQ-level relationships, maintaining regular communication on leadership changes, product listings, supply chain updates, and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee national programs (pricing, rebates, co-op, etc.) and ensure seamless execution and tracking utilization/ROI.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and targeted sales initiatives within their various sales functions (Fleet, Call-Center, Outside sellers, etc)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with direct sales teams and manufacturers' rep agencies to align strategies and ensure local execution.
  • Lead new product introductions, including promotional plans, training, events, and marketing strategies.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure website content and digital assets accurately represent the Automotive brands (Weather Guard & Better Built)
  • Support key industry events, training sessions, and market meetings to strengthen partnerships and product knowledge.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Utilize market intelligence, competitive analysis, and SWOT assessments to drive strategic and tactical decision-making.
  • Maintain a real-time pulse on end-user opportunities, ensuring clear, prioritized sales initiatives across all regions.
  • Provide accurate monthly sales forecasts and maintain up-to-date reports in Salesforce (SFDC).

Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership and guidance to Manufacturers' Rep Agencies and Account Managers to enhance performance.
  • Train customers and internal teams on products, sales strategies, and business management best practices.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to assess competitive positioning, market performance, and growth opportunities.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience in sales, account management, or marketing within the automotive aftermarket, professional building materials, wholesale, or retail sectors.
  • Proven track record of market share growth and profitability improvement within a portfolio of accounts.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the automotive aftermarket industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners at all levels.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Multilingual skills (Spanish, French) are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 50%+ of the time related to account development requirements
  • Proximity to an airport or major metro aria a plus
