The Role

Mission:

Are you a full-time undergraduate or graduate student interested in getting into the safety/environmental field? Are you interested in gaining real-world experience working in a global, international Company? If yes, this internship is for you!

Power Technique North America (a company within the Atlas Copco Group) is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to join our team during Summer, 2025 as a full-time, PAID intern.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The person selected for this opportunity will work with SHEQ Manager to:




  • Create focused on-site specific pages with links to Internal Management Systems (IMS).
  • Assist with SharePoint development for IMS and site-specific access, files, links, etc.
  • Identify site specific access and awareness of documents as per the ISO standard.
  • Gather and assist in analyzing data to help identify goals/objectives/complaints/Obstacles face presenting issues
  • Following up on training compliance and Corrective actions - status etc.
  • Contractor management compliance - audits - create list of contractors - for all sites.
  • Validate from the list of site contractors are they compliant or not.


  • Validate if contractors are on the Approved suppliers list.
  • Assist with bringing sites to compliance against the contractor management program


  • Chemical SDS validation in Chemwatch and Inventory upload
  • Assist with auditing /communication of Change Management.
  • Utilize the ISO Library Index to locate and create folders that align with the PTNA IMS program.
  • Chemical Audits from site inventory against Chemwatch to ensure all Chemicals utilized are compliant per Atlas Standards and identified with corresponding SDS.

What we expect of you?

Experience:




  • Experience gained through a previous relevant internship is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience related to safety/environmental compliance preferred.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA
  • Experience auditing is a plus!



Education:




  • To qualify for this internship, you should be:

    • a rising junior, senior or graduate student at an accredited college or university
    • with an applied science major focusing on safety/environmental compliance
    • with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
    • eligible to work within the United States without Company support for work authorization
    • able to provide your own housing for the 10 weeks of the internship program


  • Education on Safety or Environmental compliance preferred, not required.
  • Able to commit to participation in a full-time, 10-week internship program working up to 40 hours per week starting on Monday, June 2, 2025 and continuing until Friday, August 8, 2025.



Skills:




  • Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college, university or technical/vocational institution.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without company assistance.
  • Majoring in an area of study related to the position.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Possess strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail, be well-organized and show initiative.
  • Have a strong understanding of MS Word & Excel.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities.
