Major/Essential Functions


  • ENGINEERING DESIGN: Perform engineering design and drafting for assigned minor repair, renovation, and retrofit projects.
  • SAFETY: Support and comply with the Physical Plant Safety Program to include all safety and health rules, regulations, operating policies, and procedures.
  • TECHNICAL SPECIALIST: Provide engineering expertise to other departments as needed to assist in maintenance, repair or troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • ENGINEERING REVIEW: Review assigned construction contract documents and notify the appropriate parties of any discrepancies or deficiencies.
  • ENGINEERING ANALYSIS: Perform analysis of assigned building mechanical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems and create reports with recommendations for improvement in accordance with laws, codes, and policies.
  • PROJECT QUALITY CONTROL: Conducts regular on-site inspection and monitoring of assigned construction and reports deficiencies to appropriate parties.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; three years professional work experience related to the specific assigned area.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas.
  • Extensive experience with engineering design and quality control inspections for construction projects.

Pay Statement
