Major/Essential Functions ENGINEERING DESIGN: Perform engineering design and drafting for assigned minor repair, renovation, and retrofit projects. SAFETY: Support and comply with the Physical Plant Safety Program to include all safety and health rules, regulations, operating policies, and procedures. TECHNICAL SPECIALIST: Provide engineering expertise to other departments as needed to assist in maintenance, repair or troubleshooting of mechanical systems. ENGINEERING REVIEW: Review assigned construction contract documents and notify the appropriate parties of any discrepancies or deficiencies. ENGINEERING ANALYSIS: Perform analysis of assigned building mechanical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems and create reports with recommendations for improvement in accordance with laws, codes, and policies. PROJECT QUALITY CONTROL: Conducts regular on-site inspection and monitoring of assigned construction and reports deficiencies to appropriate parties. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; three years professional work experience related to the specific assigned area. Preferred Qualifications Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas. Extensive experience with engineering design and quality control inspections for construction projects.
