Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work on-site with our client in East Syracuse, NY. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The position is responsible for planning the process necessary to produce manufactured prototype parts, including designing temporary fixtures and work holding.
  • To fabricate parts using subtractive or additive manufacturing.
  • Be responsible for the inspection of their product.
  • Rework or alter component models or parts to ensure that products meet standards.
  • Consult and confer with engineering personnel to discuss developmental problems and recommend product modifications.
  • Developed and documented operating procedures for CNC machines using CAD/CAM programming interface when necessary.
  • Set up and operate semi-automated and automated machines to fabricate prototypes or models.
  • Set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve and input computerized machine control media.
  • Determines appropriate bar stock size, based on diameter, necessary for the specific job.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and informs of discrepancies.
  • Defining and coding tool arrangement, material clamping methods, and console settings for turn, bore, mill, drill, face, thread, and occasional profiling and contouring parts to specifications.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Understand drawings to determine material dimensions, necessary equipment, and operations sequences.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $36 - $45/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week.

Length: Temp (6 Months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in 3-D CAD/CAM Software with mill or lathe.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing - machining principles, practices, and methods.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with close tolerances.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with a wide range of materials.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with calipers, micrometers, and surface plate inspection practices.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with multi-axis Haas lathes or 5-axis CNC machines.
  • Able to solve routine problems with minimal supervision and demonstrates advanced problem-solving ability.
  • Able to work well in cross-functional teams and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have passion, self-motivation, great attention to detail, multitasking, and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Show a willingness to work safely, carefully, and diligently on every task assigned.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • To program using 3D CAD/CAM software, producing programs for multi-axis milling, multi-plane machining, surface machining, and 3D additive printers.
  • The candidate must have a good working knowledge of materials, cutting tools, necessary speeds and feeds, and the ability to set up and proof programs.
