About the role

You will be responsible for harnessing ideas of Business Development, into tangible, actionable and executable plans that will champion the cause of products within Harman Automotive Division. Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development - you will have global responsibility to track and trace early engagement activities across Asia, Europe, and N. America. You will work closely with the regional business development leads and be a vital cog connecting cross functional teams (customer groups, SBUs, Finance, Manufacturing, Procurement etc.) and drive value. You are analytical, structured, and methodical in your approach in finding the right solutions to challenges. You are a driven individual, with hunger to learn, passion to drive and possess a make-it-happen mindset. What you will do

  • Oversee strategic initiatives from ideation to implementation. Create systems and processes to streamline business development operations globally.
  • Drive collaboration meetings globally, develop templates and frameworks to drive efficiency into meetings. Ensure quality input are in place, so that right discussions and decisions are accomplished in meetings. Track deliverables, action items and hold stakeholders accountable.
  • Define, rollout and track KPIs helping stakeholders and leadership take the right decisions at the right time and attain relevant business objectives.
  • Provide reporting of regional pursuit status and associated KPIs including monthly reporting on customer engagement status to top management team.
  • Work with leadership to deliver, monitor, and communicate progress towards goals.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and leading workshops.
  • Create, contribute, and provide oversight to customer facing proposals, content, and strategy, supporting the business development team in early engagement.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the automotive landscape, OEM transformations and competitor offerings and partnerships

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering. MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of automotive experience working in a Tier-1 organization.
  • The ideal candidate will be an energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment. The person should possess an innate ability to break down complex topics into simpler messages in-turn driving effective communication. Ability to gauge not just what can be done but also how it can be done effectively and efficiently, is a key requirement for this role. Doing what is right is key for success in this role.
  • Results driven individual with a proactive, goal-oriented approach to decision making. The person is capable of handling multiple projects / initiatives simultaneously and execute to completion. Must have strong planning skills, and excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The person can drive change in a matrix organization and be open to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Proficiency in Sales Force, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Pay Transparency
$ 105,000 - $ 154,000
Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation are also available, such as bonuses or commission.

Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
