Project Management Intern

The AMSOIL Strategic Planning Team is looking for a Project Management Intern for Summer 2025. The summer internship program typically begins after spring semester and ends before the start of the fall semester. This is an exciting opportunity for students who are highly motivated, enjoy a challenge, and are looking to expand their career. This position reports on-site to the AMSOIL Center in Superior, Wisconsin.


Core Responsibilities:

Assist with Project Planning and Execution



  • Helping to create project plans, timelines, and schedules. You may assist in defining the scope of the project, identifying key milestones, and setting deadlines.
  • Monitoring and updating project progress to ensure it stays on track using project management software (like Monday or MS Project).
  • Keeping accurate records of all project-related documents, including meeting notes, budgets, timelines, and status updates.



Process Development



  • Assist with mapping current processes. Designing, documenting, and implementing process improvements using strategies like Value Stream Mapping.



Coordinate Team Communication



  • Acting as a point of contact between different team members, stakeholders, or departments.
  • Organizing meetings with team members or clients, ensuring the right people are involved, and preparing agendas and meeting materials.
  • Compiling key project info into a presentation so leaders can make quick decisions.



Gathering and Analyzing Data



  • Collecting data on the project's performance, including key metrics like timeline adherence, budget status, and deliverable completion rates. You may assist in analyzing this data and making recommendations based on the findings.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to identify trends that indicate process weaknesses. Present insights and suggestions for improvements based on data analysis.



Position Requirements:



  • Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Must have completed Sophomore year
  • Available 40 hours/week Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the summer months
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Can work independently, and enjoys doing so
  • Excellent organization skills with a keen attention to detail



Other Details:



  • Pay type - hourly
  • Starting pay - $18.00/hour
