General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is looking foraClinic Coordinator tojoinour teamatMedStar St. Mary's Hospital! This individual must be a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.

The Clinic Coordinator willprovidephysical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech language pathology services to patient, to includescreening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment reassessment and revision, patient/client reevaluation, discharge planning, and documentation.They will assistin coordinating day-to-day operations in collaboration with the Clinic Leadership and effective short-term scheduling and team member coverage. This individual is responsible for working with the Clinic leadership to promote proper and efficientutilizationof quality services., participating in program development, expansion and improvement with the Clinic Leadership and other team members, and helping to develop andmaintainsystems to increase referrals and to communicate with physicians, insurers, and external case managers.

Primary Duties:

  • Providesevaluation and treatment services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family and incorporates patient and family in the goals setting. Demonstratesproficiencyin implementation of treatment protocols. Consults with other healthcare professionals asindicated. Documentschangesin patients' conditions.

  • Completesappropriate dischargeplanning and follow-up care. Accurately andtimelydocuments and charges for patient care activitiesconsideringour evolving health care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focusedinitialevaluation/plan of care thatestablishesbaseline and goals, encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Promotes excellent customer experience and great access. Demonstrates a professional commitment toprovidefrictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment. Participates in team removal of barriers to access.

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations.Assistingwith the coordination of daily staffing and patient scheduling, working with team members to meet productivity expectations and service demands,participatinginutilizationand peer review activities, andassistswith ongoing feedback to team membersregardingobserved performance and talents tofacilitategoal achievement.Assistswith performance appraisals and completes them promptly. Assistsinselection, training, andorienting of staff as directed by clinic leadership.Assistsin performance management and conducts performance appraisals promptly.

  • Providesinput into the budget and helps manage expenses tooperatewithin the budget parameters.Participates in program development, expansion and improvement with the Clinic leadership and other team members. Catalyzes communication and collaboration with physicians, and other program/service stakeholders, across the care continuum as applicable, promoting improved programming, integration ofindicatedtherapy to promote value driven care and best practice in transitions in care for patients across our communities. Activelyparticipates on teams/committees to promote the goals of the service line.

  • Coordinates community and MedStarHealthoutreach and formal marketing initiatives to expand potential patient and referrer awareness of programs and services, capturesadditionalprogram volume as a result.Assistwith the initiative in developing andmaintainingreferrals.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational, Physical therapy, or Speech Language Pathology.

  • Maryland, District of Columbia,or Virginia licensurerequiredasnecessary for your specific location(s).

  • American Heart Association'sBLS (Basic Life Support).

  • 3-4 yearsclinical experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting withdemonstrated expertise preferred.

This position has a hiring range of $87,318 - $157,289
