Compensation Grade: P23Compensation Details: Minimum: $82,711.00 - Maximum: $82,711.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) CCH - Division of Chronic Disease PreventionJob Description: Responsibilities Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Health Program Coordinator I to work within the Bureau of Cancer Prevention and Control to coordinate and support the implementation of program activities of the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program. The incumbent will work on Bureau priorities related to promoting primary cancer prevention; early detection; and access to quality, evidence-based services for cancer survivors, focusing efforts within the Capital District Regional Office service region of Albany, Clinton, Columbia, Delaware, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington Counties. The incumbent will coordinate efforts to support the implementation of policy, system and environmental change (PSE) efforts and evidence-based interventions that impact cancer prevention, screening and survivorship. Strategies and interventions will focus on communities and people that experience cancer-related health inequities due to factors such as race, sexual orientation, gender identity, geography, or socioeconomic status. The incumbent will engage in activities of the NYS Cancer Consortium and Consortium Action Teams and serve as a key liaison with internal and external partners in the Capital District Regional Office service area to identify cancer control priorities and lead collaboration on strategies aligned with the NYS Cancer Control Plan to improve cancer prevention and control outcomes. The incumbent will help identify partners who represent populations and communities disproportionately impacted by cancer burden and engage them in this work; develop promotional materials, such as success stories and presentations that highlight successful cancer prevention and control interventions, and work with internal and external partners to sustain, and replicate and expand the reach of work within the Capital District Regional Office service area and statewide. The incumbent will supervise staff as needed and perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience in program coordination in a public health, health, health regulatory, or human services related program; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
