Compensation Grade: P25Compensation Details: Minimum: $91,922.00 - Maximum: $91,922.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) Office of ScienceJob Description: Responsibilities Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist III to work within the New York State Department of Health Office of Science and Technology in the Health, Wealth & Wellbeing Unit. The incumbent will lead the planning, development, and implementation of the research and applied epidemiology analysis activities, assessment, and evaluation activities that demonstrate how increased wealth improves health outcomes and general wellbeing. This position focuses on examining and assessing community wealth building initiatives and their impact on social determinants of health, and health disparities. Specific duties will include: developing comprehensive evaluation and analysis plans that include algorithms for various health and wealth related measures measuring the impact of unit programming on community health and wealth indicators; identifying, obtaining, developing, and managing appropriate datasets and development of surveys for data collection; building programs for generating and validating relevant indicators and measures; producing publications, reports and presentations that summarize the impact of the unit's wealth building initiatives on health; maintaining expertise and responsiveness in the field and collaborating with other NYSDOH partners and conduct analytical projects necessary to address data needs of the health and wealth related projects; providing guidance and technical assistance to staff; and developing written reports, peer- reviewed publications, and presentations. Other appropriate related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, a related social science, or a closely related field and four years of research experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field and three years of research experience; OR a Doctorate degree in a related field and one year of research experience. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Travel, up to 25%, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available. This position may require occasional work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays. HRI participates in the E-Verify Program.
