Tyler is seeking a seasoned executive for a newly created Senior Vice President of Payment Strategy and Operations (SVP of Payment Strategy & Ops) role. The SVP will be responsible for overseeing Tyler's enterprise-wide payment strategy, including managing Tyler's payment solutions platform suite, which integrates with Tyler software and external merchant processors. They will also maintain key merchant processor relationships, developing new payment enabling solutions, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, optimize payment costs, and align payment platform strategies with Tyler's overall business goals. They will be responsible for integrating solutions and services across the diverse portfolios to create a consistent enterprise-wide approach to payment solutions sales, marketing, support and implementation. This individual will be a Subject Matter Expert on Tyler's payment solutions platform suite, which includes multiple payment enabling solutions and citizen access portals. They will manage pricing strategies and market approach for Tyler payment solutions in collaboration with underlying product leaders and sales teams. The SVP of payment Strategy & Ops will be responsible for establishing and reporting on metrics and KPIs for predictable and reliable growth that align with Tyler's 2030 financial objectives related to Payments. Overall, the SVP of Payments will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy for all aspects of Tyler's Payment solutions portfolio that drives desired growth and outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees a comprehensive payment strategy that aligns with Tyler's 2030 financial goals and drive desired revenue growth.
  • Serves as Payments Subject Matter Expert to the executive team, including Tyler Payment platform offerings, as well as the integration of those offerings with Tyler products, merchant processors, and external solutions.
  • Collaborates effectively across various business units and across various levels of the organization to influence, guide and steer the company towards desired and expected outcomes.
  • Oversees the development roadmap for Tyler payment platforms, including the impact and integration with Tyler products and our merchant processor platforms.
  • Must have the vision, and knowledge of the competitive fin tech environment for local and state markets, to develop an overarching enterprise-wide go-to-market strategy for growing the payments business that can be modeled at the divisional levels.
  • Creates a discrete view of Payments sales targets, revenue and expense that consolidates all divisional sales targets and P&L revenue derived from the payment platform suite.
  • Establishes core competencies that creates a forward thinking and innovative culture and promotes Tyler as market leader of payment enabling solutions in the Public Sector
  • Establishes metrics and key performance indicators for predictable and reliable growth that meets or exceeds our 2030 financial objectives related to Payments
  • Understands merchant processor contract and operating models and manages Tyler relationship with key merchant processors to create the best in class end to end solution for Tyler clients, from ease of contracting to post-implementation support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a leadership role with a background in the payments industry, with a focus on fin tech solutions, revenue growth, and strategic business development.
  • Strong payments operations experience, with the ability to manage and develop teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must have extensive experience managing large P&Ls, with the ability to drive growth, manage costs, and ultimately, enhance profitability.
  • Deep understanding of payment processing operating models, with the ability to navigate applicable regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. PCI, AML/BSA, MTL).
  • Good understanding of evolving payment technologies within the Public Sector.
  • Experienced in managing large-scale payment systems, including integrating third-party solutions and overseeing complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to proactively analyze data, identify trends, drive forecasting, ARR modeling, and research on addressable local, state, and federal government markets
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions to improve client outcomes.
  • Experienced in managing relationships with payment processors, negotiating service agreements, managing contracts, and ensuring vendor performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at an Executive level with clients and internal stakeholders.
