Overview

This position is responsible for working with the team to achieve total red cell and apheresis collection goals for CBC, both at blood drives and donor centers. The Account Manager is accountable under manager supervision for the development, planning and promotion of donor recruitment activities including hosting blood drives in donor centers, supporting marketing campaign efforts in centers, managing regularly-scheduled drives at key geographic locations and working with groups to host blood drives in the community. Responsible for educating and communicating with indivdiuals about the need for blood, the local blood program and blood donation. Devleops and maintains contact with volunteers to encourage their participation.



Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

    Works as part of a team to maximize blood collections and achieve/exceed collection goals for the organization.
  • Works with groups to host virtual blood drives at donor centers.
    • Provides education and assistance to volunteer chairpersons organizing blood drives
    • Recruits new and past donors using tele-recruitment and other recruitment and promotional tactics.
    • Provides publicity and recruitment materials to promote blood drives.
    • Assists with donor appointments and scheduling.
  • Schedules and manages regularly-scheduled blood drives in the community.
    • Identifies key geographic locations to host mobiles.
    • Works with applicable venue on drive scheduling and details of blood drive.
    • Performs recruitment activigties such as telemarketing, sign-up tables and on-site recruitment to support blood drives.
    • Identifies and works with organizations and donor groups who can feed into a blood drive.
  • Schedules and assists groups in hosting on-site blood drives.
    • Seeks and communicates with accounts to host blood drives.
    • Provides education and assistance to volunteer chairpersons organizing blood drives.
    • Recruits new and past donors using tele-recruitment and other recruitment and promotional tactics.
    • Provides publicity and recruitment materials to promote blood drives.
  • Ability to travel 75% or more of the time.
  • Supports donor and community outreach efforts by marketing through in-office support of mass mailings and fulfillment.

  • Must be able to confidently communicate and interpret intermediate information in English to all members of the public and CBC staff.
  • Must have and maintain a valid operator's license and clean driving record. All tickets and suspensions must be reported to supervisor.

Other Functions:

  • Assists and supports team members.
  • Communicates with suprvisors and other CBC staff.
  • Makes recommendations to improve organizational processes.
  • Any related duteis as assigned.


Qualifications

Education:
Associate's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication or related field or equivalent work experience.

Experience:
Two years of experience in sales, marketing, and/or customer service experience preferred.

Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses/Certifications
Must have a valid driver's license.

* Data systems
* Knowledge of Missouri and Kansas driving laws as applicable.
