HOURS: M-F, part-time and full-time positions for up to 6 months
HIRING RANGE: $20 /hour
LOCATION: Various locations in Dakota County, current opening at Lakeville License Center

What You'll Do
Temporary License Office Support personnel are the first point of contact to customers at the license centers. Their responsibilities are to provide clear, accurate, and helpful information and direct customers to the appropriate forms or line. Staff work under limited supervision and performs related duties as assigned.

This list may be used to fill part-time (20hr/week) and full-time (40hr/week) vacancies at various locations including Dakota County Service & License Center locations. Work is performed Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Click here to view Service & License Center locations and hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Need to Have Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working directly with the public would be helpful.

Duties & Responsibilities

These examples do not include all possible tasks in this work and do not limit the assignment of related tasks in any position of this classification. Regular attendance according to the position's management approved work schedule is required for all positions.

  1. Serves as a point of contact and information for incoming customers, visitors and customers.
  2. Utilizes written procedures and acquired knowledge to provide accurate information to customers and visitors.
  3. Maintains an organized information system. Ensures information is available, well organized, and easy to retrieve.
  4. Directs the customer to appropriate line.
  5. Verifies customer's documents and provides forms needed for their visit.
  6. Assists with special projects as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to use tact and discretion as appropriate.
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of sensitive materials and/or information.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a County office building, there is significant amount of walking, and movement. Occasionally carrying lightweight items such as notebooks, and work papers. The work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office.

SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process for this classification will consist of a screening of your training and experience from the application materials submitted.
