Primary Purpose of Department
The Department of Housing and Residence Life is comprised of a team of professionals committed to creating communities that enhance the academic, personal and social development of residential students and to providing students with a variety of services and comfortable living environments that are clean, safe and affordable. Approximately 6,100 students live in 15 residential communities.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Residence Education Coordinator is a 12-month, full-time professional staff member in the Department of Housing and Residence Life. The Residence Education Coordinator is responsible for providing overall management and leadership in residential communities housing 300-750 residents.
Summary of Position Responsibilities

  • Staff supervision and development
  • Residential education, community development, student conduct
  • Facility and assignment management
  • Hall council advising, crisis management and summer operations
  • Other departmental/campus-wide responsibilities

Minimum Education/Experience
  • Master's degree, or bachelor's degree with equivalent experience.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Master's degree in higher education, counseling and/or student personnel (or a related field).
  • Two years of housing experience at the graduate or professional level
  • Demonstrated ability to blend the academic and residential components of student life.
  • Additional experience in staff supervision and educational/social programming will be viewed positively.
