BID/JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Public Health Nutritionist II Department Of Public Health Number of Positions: 3 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $65,328 This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Under supervision, performs fully functional professional nutrition assessment and counseling duties providing services to individuals, groups, and families in a public health center or clinic, and performs related duties as required ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Kedzie Chicago, 60623 WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. or 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. (depending on location) Some additional hours may be required in case of public health emergency. THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a directly related field; OR a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a directly related field, plus one (1) year of work experience in public health nutrition or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience provided that the minimum education requirement is met. Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications: At the time of employment, must be registration eligible Dietitian awaiting full Registered Dietitian (RD) credential awarded by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Proof of written approval from the Commission is required. RD credential must be completed within twelve (12) months of hire. Must be a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation within six months of hire SELECTION REQUIREMENTS This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.
