WORK SHIFT: First Shift (United States of America)
JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY The ideal candidate will have multi-year experience in plastic processing methods such as injection molding, rotational, and extrusion. In this role you will plan, direct, coordinate, and perform a wide variety of activities in the determination, implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of new and existing manufacturing processes, machinery, plant layouts, and building improvements and expansions. Works closely with Operations, Tooling, Engineering, Quality, and New Product Development ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Research, benchmark, select, and manage implementation of new manufacturing equipment.
- Manage large projects involving equipment moves and related facility modification projects
- Manage, lead, and coordinate new products, facility, equipment, tooling, fixtures, gage, and process and quality improvement projects, including schedules and budgets
- Provide design and fabrication help needed for continuous improvement projects
- Assist with troubleshooting manufacturing process issues involving product, facility, equipment, process, and quality problems
- Participate and contribute in design reviews for new products
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including milestone dates, capital spend requests, budgets, and actual expenses
- Liaise with outside suppliers to meet Cambro's needs for equipment, tools, and services
- Create new equipment specification documents, RFQ and RFP
- Implement new products and processes into manufacturing
- Develop new processes or improve existing processes and layouts to improve process capability, yield, ergonomics, safety, reliability, and quality
- Analyze existing processes and implement modifications to reduce costs through improved manufacturability and processability, efficiency, simplification, and standardization
- Occasionally lead and supervise employees to perform project and engineering tasks
- Perform return-on-investment and payback analysis for capital projects
- Perform industrial engineering time studies to establish baseline process rates, validate engineering standards, and balance assembly lines
- Develop, write, and document set-up, start-up, in-process, assembly, maintenance, material handling, packaging, receiving, maintenance, and other procedures and specifications
- Train employees on proper procedures and use of equipment, tools, ergonomics, and safety
- Develop and perform DOEs for material evaluations and process optimization
- Design, perform, or assist in new and modified mold and tooling reviews, validations, evaluations, and first articles
- Assess process capabilities of product and process attributes
- Travel to the various Cambro locations and to vendor locations
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
- Execute each essential duty satisfactorily to perform the job successfully.
- Follows all safety procedures required in the work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
- Performs effectively as a team member, can work well with others, is open to receiving and giving feedback, and treats everyone respectfully.
- Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
- Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to the immediate manager.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- May have to make presentations to senior management in MOS meetings
- Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible, and be open to possible schedule changes to meet business needs.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing and project engineering role
- Ability to read drawings and engineering documentation
- Reasoning ability/Communication, both verbal & written
- Microsoft suite of products
- Must have a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft suite products, such as Office software, particularly Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to create and edit text documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and schedules
- High proficiency in 2D or 3D drawing capability for product, facility, equipment, tooling, fixture, and gaged design on AutoCAD or SolidWorks required
- Basic knowledge and understanding of most industrial codes required (ANSI, ADA, OSHA, NEC, NFPA, IBC, ISO, DIN)
- Understanding of PLC programming and logic required; Ability to program PLC's helpful
- Knowledge and experience with Statistical Process Control and Process Capability required
- Experience with Design of Experiments helpful
- Must be an excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Robot programming, PowerBI
- CAE software proficiency, including FEA, Mold Filling
- Language skills
- PE license
