Summary

Responsible for providing complex administrative support to assigned department management and staff and carrying out secretarial responsibilities as established through departmental needs. Responsible for performing data entry and technical duties in the permit process.

Salary

$18.00 - $22.00 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide day-to-day business and administrative support.

  • Respond to inquiries by answering telephone calls, e-mails or face-to-face communication and direct calls and inquiries to appropriate personnel.

  • Create, prepare and maintain office files, including filing and updating personnel folders.

  • Record, transcribe and distribute various documentation.

  • Send, receive and distribute faxes to appropriate department personnel.

  • Collect and organize data for projects.

  • Prepare and maintain office records, reports and correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize and simultaneously handle a variety of administrative tasks

  • Ability to utilize and manage Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook

  • Good to excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills

  • Proficient organizational skills

  • Proficient oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment and with minimal supervision

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid State of Texas Class C Drivers License.
