The Opportunity: Avantor is looking for a dedicated and experienced Biology Live Technician.Associate must receive, evaluate, and process living or non-living raw material into finished product. Perform quality control check on final product, adhering to departmental standards. Performance will be assessed based upon the quality of the finished product and the efficiency of its manufacture. Answer customer service questions and provide technical support. Tasks may include some warehousing, inventory control, and other indirect tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions) Typically works in either a warehouse environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a seasonally variable range of temperature and noise level, or a lab environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. Personal protective equipment in the form of eye, ear, body, foot, and hand protection required with certain tasks. Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. Some physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10lbs, but occasionally over 50lbs. Work is repetitious. Efforts are made to mitigate repetitive motion through interchangeable personnel and cross-training.
