RECEIVER

1st Shift: M-F (8am - 4:30pm)

The Receiver performs operations required for inbound materials and products. The responsibility for inbound is to receive raw materials from vendors and/or ship completed items to customers. Such duties include receiving bulk and non-bulk raw material, check-in, store, or move incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and maintain proper receiving records. For outbound materials, ensure proper packaging, labeling and placement of product for pick up and movement of items to correct transport vehicle.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Receive and check-in materials using scanners.
  • Unload semi-trucks using sit down forklifts and /or hand jacks.
  • Unload bulk tankers ensuring hoses are properly connected and stored properly.
  • Check incoming materials and supplies against Purchase Order or other documentation.
  • Gather, sort, and prepare skids, drums, etc. for return or storage.
  • Complete proper documentation correctly and accurately. Enter data into computer.
  • Clean up and safely store equipment used. Follow all 6S clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by your supervisor or Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education level preferred: a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • One to three years of work experience preferred and in a related field required.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system, and other office machinery.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
  • Forklift Certification is strongly preferred and Hazmat certifications (training will be provided).
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Clean work habits and skill in handling large volumes of liquid or powder and raw materials.
  • Knowledge of the metric system, advanced math skills (specifically multiplication and division), and the ability to convert various measurements required.
  • Ability to use the following tools preferred: Forklifts (sit down, stand-up and walk behind), freight elevator, drum grabbers, drum trucks, scales, gauges, wrenches, and ladders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, stand, and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee occasionally must use foot/feet to operate machinery, climb or balance and reach above the shoulders. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 65 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production area. Safety shoes, glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms are required in the production area. Respirators and ear plugs may be required when performing certain production activities.
