Role Description

Form Energy is hiring multiple Senior Process Technicians to join our world-class Electrode Prototype Process team, reporting to our Associate Manager of Process Engineering. This team is responsible for developing, prototyping, and validating processes used to manufacture the anode and cathode in Form Energy's Iron-Air multi-day battery.

This role is embedded directly in the prototype process engineering team and will support multiple electrode manufacturing efforts. You will participate in engineering and pilot production trials and work to develop and improve novel electrode manufacturing techniques. You'll use your manufacturing expertise to work closely with equipment design engineers, operations, and facilities teams to design, develop, scale, and control revolutionary electrode manufacturing processes for Form Energy's Iron-Air multi-day battery.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a significant and daily impact on a cutting-edge battery technology that will revolutionize the electric grid and bring major improvements to grid reliability and sustainability.

What you'll do:
  • Partner with our Prototype Equipment Team to fine-tune and optimize new equipment with a focus on safety and process capability

  • Conduct engineering trials and data collection with careful attention to detail and effective documentation

  • Document and improve the process steps required to deliver high-quality prototypes of product-scale cathodes to be used in Form Energy's batteries by authoring SOPs using Microsoft Word or equivalent software.

  • Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and new processes from the Process Engineering Team to the Operations team through in-depth training and on-the-floor operations support

  • Problem-solve and troubleshoot novel mechanical challenges on first-of-its-kind pilot equipment and manufacturing processes

  • Be a champion for safety in the development of new equipment and manufacturing processes

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of experience as a technician or in a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated manufacturing process knowledge

  • Experience executing manufacturing or engineering trials with diligent attention to detail and a high standard for quality

  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment and desire to roll up your sleeves and fill the gaps where necessary

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a positive get-it-done attitude

  • Moderate level of comfort with computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
