The Outpatient Services Office Coordinator performs varied secretarial and clerical duties for the Director of Outpatient Services and Program Manager. Incumbent assists with a variety of assignments and office functions and enhances department effectiveness by providing information and support to the Outpatient Services Director.

  • Initiate, maintain and distribute admission and discharge sheets and flash locators, and e-mail to administration at the end of the day.
  • Answer telephones in a courteous manner, prepare messages as appropriate and respond to urgent telephone calls quickly.
  • Orient new patients to facility, including providing a tour of physical plant unless patient has been previously in the hospital program and declines. Provide attendance slip for appropriate group.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's degree in medical office or related field preferred. Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) year experience in a health care facility preferred.

License: No license required.

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must be able to type

40 wpm and be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Incumbent must maintain a current, valid certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (classes are provided in-house). Successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) training (provided in-house) including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint, within the first 30 days of employment and required prior to assisting in the procedures. Incumbent may be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
