This role will have the flexibility to work remote 100% of the time.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...



  • Managing assigned dockets and collaborating with IP docketing team
  • Reviewing, processing, and filing new applications and supplemental files
  • Preparing e-filings of IDS, Declarations and Substitute Statements
  • Assisting with responses to various Office Actions
  • Preparing client correspondence and various reporting letters
  • Managing the billing process; collaborating with Billing Department


The successful candidate will demonstrate...



  • A minimum of 3 years of patent prosecution experience, including partner-level practice management support
  • Proven knowledge of federal rules, regulations, and U.S. and international Intellectual Property Law (37 C.F.R., MPEP, PCT regulations)
  • Ability to effectively utilize IP docketing software (Inprotech) and USPTO online resources
  • Proficient knowledge and usage of document management system (WorkSite/FileSite)
  • Ability to independently and efficiently prioritize workflow and maintain an organized task schedule
  • Ability to manage high volume and efficiently prioritize competing demands
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed


Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC:

$90,000 - $105,000 per year

The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
