Bell Ambulance is searching for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the established program based in Wauwatosa for 14 company properties in SE Wisconsin. The successful candidate will manage the facility maintenance program, existing technician crew, and building enhancement projects. Additionally, this position will prospect for and be the primary POC for additional properties as the business continues its rapid expansion.

Bell Ambulance is searching for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the established program based in Wauwatosa for 14 company properties in SE Wisconsin. The successful candidate will manage the facility maintenance program, existing technician crew, and building enhancement projects. Additionally, this position will prospect for and be the primary POC for additional properties as the business continues its rapid expansion.

Facilities Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Facilities Technician crew (3) so that properties are fully functional for EMS and office crews.

  • Manage and enhance the existing CMMS system to maintain accurate service records and complete service requests in order of priority.

  • Establish relationships and partners with external contractors for maintenance and projects that exceed in-house capabilities. Ensure that work is completed to company standards.

  • Responsible for verifying and approving all invoices and costs related to the department in a timely basis.

  • Ensure the facilities are inspected regularly and maintain proper licensing and permitting with appropriate local agencies.

  • Negotiate and oversee all service contracts currently in use. This includes but is not limited to, lawn care, snow removal, fire protection inspections, generator maintenance, and garbage removal.

  • Serve as a purchaser of essential items for the facilities and EMS crews, including but not limited to bedding, kitchen equipment, and cleaning supplies.

  • Serve as the point of contact for any repairs and renovations to existing facilities and new construction. This is to include:

    • Oversight of the permitting process

    • Coordination of project meetings with architect and general contractor

    • Interaction with subcontractor crews

  • Provide status updates throughout the project lifecycle to ensure all necessary company stakeholders are informed of progress

Facilities Manager Requirements

  • Knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security cameras, and access systems

  • Possess a pleasant demeanor and ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization in a manner that creates positive relationships

  • Possess the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to pivot and transition quickly as operational needs change

  • Must be able to absorb information from various sources, process efficiently, and make recommendations with tact and courage to appropriate leadership

  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills and follow through

  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision

  • Possess the ability to utilize personal computers, email, spreadsheets, software applications, and building automation systems

  • Demonstrated knowledge of building systems in a facility management role for a combined 5-7 years, along with experience as a building maintenance technician for 10 years or an associate's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (trade or facilities management program)

  • Completion of a recognized trade apprenticeship (mechanical or electrical preferred) and a Wisconsin state license. Preferred but not required

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations or Project Management Preferred but not required
