Grants Assistant Manager Rsch Mngt Serv Admin Full Time 83676BR Job Summary The Assistant Team Manager supervises support staff composed of Research Services Coordinators and Associate Research Services Coordinators working on grants or contracts according to established policies, practices and defined internal controls. Receives pre-determined work that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Provides priority setting and work flow analysis. Uses advanced contracts and grants concepts to manage high volume and high complexity transactions. The Assistant Team Manager serves as UCSF's Authorized Organizational Representative / Signing Official (AOR / SO) for a set portfolio of departments and faculty while providing supervision to a group of Research Services Coordinators (RSCs) and Research Management Services (RMS) Associates. The Assistant Team Manager will partner with the Research Services Team Manager to manage workload distribution, report and interpret the performance and metric data, serve as an in-house subject matter expert on a variety of topics, and ensure that the Team is maintaining the highest standard of proposal and award services. Reporting to the Research Services Team Manager, the Assistant Team Manager will be assigned direct supervision of at least two RMS Associates to assist with directing and managing the proposal process for the departments served by the Assistant Team Manager. In addition to his / her leadership role, it is critical that the Assistant Team Manager serve as an exemplary RSC by ensuring timely, compliant proposal submissions and accurate, efficient award review and acceptance. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $108,800 - $163,200 (Annual Rate).
