Are you passionate about the advancement of health equity, increasing the size of the public health workforce and strengthening its organizational competencies? Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Division Public Health Infrastructure, to work within the Office of Public Health, New York State Department of Health. The Division of Public Health Infrastructure brings together several Federally and State Funded programs that strengthen the Office of Public Health and the State's 58 Local Health Departments public health foundational capabilities. The Division includes New York State Public Health Fellowship Corp, Community Engagement and Outreach Unit, Public Health Continuing Education Unit, Office of Local Health Services, Accreditation Team, and the Public Health Infrastructure Core Team. The Associate Director will support the Office of Public Health's vision to increase the size of the public health workforce, increase the visibility of the Office of Public Health and strengthen community-based partnerships. The Associate Director will have and direct performance management and policy development which include planning, development of standard operating procedures, managing the implementation of a project management software application, quality review and monitoring. In addition, the Associate Director will provide direct oversight over two of the four units in the Division, Public Health Infrastructure. The Associate Director will bolster the Department of Health's mission to protect and promote health and well-being for all, building on a foundation of health equity. The Associate Director will represent the Division at Interagency meetings, external committee meetings, prepare and present reports, and lead the planning, coordination, and facilitation of the division program evaluators community of practice with a focus on program sustainability. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in a related field and seven years of experience in the direction and management of a public health, health, human services or health regulatory program or community-based organization; OR an associate's degree in a related field and nine years of such experience; OR eleven years of such experience. The years of experience must have included policy formulation, program planning, design, implementation, evaluation, and/or allocation of resources. At least five years of experience must have included supervision of staff and program management. A master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available. Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required. HRI participates in the E-Verify Program.
