The Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH), and the Centers for Health Work and Environment have an opening for a full-time position (1.0 FTE) at the rank of Professional Research Assistant (PRA) - Level 2. This position provides full-scope project management and research support including regulatory compliance, project administration, procurement, and other various day-to-day research activities. This position plays a major role in proactively anticipating research project needs and issues/problems, suggesting a range of options with an analysis of advantages and disadvantages, and recommending solutions to the principal investigator(s). This position will manage a diverse portfolio of projects including community engaged projects on climate, environmental, and occupational health (mental health, kidney disease, and birth outcomes) and tobacco and marijuana use surveillance research projects. The incumbent will be part of a multi-disciplinary team under the leadership of Dr. Katherine James. The incumbent will work closely with faculty and staff within the Centers for Health Work and Environment and the Community Epidemiology and Program Evaluation Group (CEPEG) within the broader CU Anschutz community. Key Responsibilities: 50% - Project Management and Coordination This position will provide logistical support to coordinate the research activities for multiple community-based environmental health research projects, including:
o Coordinate study protocol amendments and approvals with the Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board (COMIRB) o Coordinate annual reports on grant-funded research activities
- Project administration / Fiduciary responsibilities
o Coordinate multi-institutional research team meetings o Inventory and ordering of research supplies o Administration of participant incentive programs (i.e. gift card programs) o Development and dissemination of community reports/newsletters o Maintenance of the research lab's database website o Maintain procurement cardholder status and timely submission of procurement reports o Detail and facilitate completion of business agreements with vendors, consultants and other individuals supporting research o Submit purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement requests o Coordinating shipments of research supplies and samples to participants and remote research team members/collaborators
- Additional Responsibilities may include Community Engagement
o Sample Collection and Coordination * Monitoring ongoing sample collection protocols for environmental and biologic samples * Quality assurance and management of large quantities of samples o Participant Communication * Results reporting to research participants (and resource referrals as needed) * Participant onboarding (e.g. consenting, providing study materials, sampling instructions, research surveys, etc.) * Participant offboarding (e.g. results reporting, notification of study closure, incentive payments, etc.) 50% - Research Support Activities - Tobacco Surveillance This position will support ongoing tobacco and marijuana use surveillance and research projects, including:
- Grant writing support including literature review, data visualization, and reference and citation management
- Development of survey instruments for emerging areas of research interest
- Preparation of state reports
o Development of analysis plans and data analysis (experience with SAS or other comparable software programs preferred) o Data visualization, creation of tables and figures
- Research translation/dissemination of research findings
o Preparation of conference presentations/poster presentations o Preparation of interactive presentations and trainings for diverse audiences, including state and local government and other community partners
