The Staff Accountant is responsible for carrying out the company's financial close, ensuring the accuracy of general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and leading and participating in process improvement activities.

The Staff Accountant performs a wide range of duties wholly assigned to the role, as well as assisting management with varied tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Involving the closing process: making required adjusting and accrual journal entries, audit ready account analysis and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Perform monthly and quarterly Bank reconciliations
  • Ensure completion of monthly close on a timely basis and provide support to the monthly closing and reporting process
  • Assists in the preparation year-end audit working papers as assigned
  • Work directly with experienced senior accountant or accounting manager to ensure consistent application of accounting policies
  • Participation in the improvement and documentation of financial and operational processes
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and use critical thinking and professional judgment
  • Ability to work with and meet strict deadlines
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent degrees with financial accounting courses
  • Accounting degree is a plus
  • 1-3 years' experience in accounting
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Financial accounting software knowledge, NetSuite is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • *Solid computer skills including MS Office Suite, Excel (intermediate proficiency, familiar with functions such as Vlookup or Pivot Table)
  • Proactive self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment
